INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 Dry bread crumbs
- 1 small minced onions
- 1 pack of macaroni
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
- 1 table spoon of flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups of milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Dry mustard
DIRECTION
- Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
- Grease your dish, place the bread crumbs into a small bowl and mix well with the melted butter, set aside.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
- Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, drain, then place into prepared dish.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt 2 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan over medium heat
- Stir in the minced onions and cook until it is soft and turns translucent,
- In 5mins time, stir in the flour, pepper, salt, and dry mustard until it is properly mixed together
- Pour in the milk and let it simmer a bit, keep stirring the milk for about 10mins until it has thickened.
- Take the milk off the heat, and stir in the cheddar cheese until it has melted
- Pour the cheese sauce over the macaroni, then sprinkle the bread crumbs evenly
- Bake this for 20mins until the top is golden.
